This year Melbourne played host to XeroCon South, the world’s most beautiful and innovative conference for cloud accounting leaders in Australia, NZ and Asia. DFK Hirn Newey partners Paul Fiumara and Gavin Johns, and managers Mitchell Brooks and Jessica Jakeman, along with over 3,000 other delegates, attended the event.
XeroCon was a great opportunity to further explore the ever-expanding Xero ecosystem. Meeting face to face with a multitude of Xero add-on app vendors allowed our team to learn more about how these products can add value and efficiencies for our clients. Congratulations must go to Practice Ignition for taking out the award for “Industry Specific App Partner of the Year”. DFK Hirn Newey are proud to support Practice Ignition, whom we utilise to generate and send out our engagement letters to our clients.
The conference provided a wide range of industry-related workshops and speakers included writer, actor and side-splitting comedian Magda Szubanski, who spoke on her autobiography ‘Reckoning’. In the words of Peter Craven, in his review published in the Australian, ”Reckoning is an extraordinary hymn to the tragic heroism at the heart of ordinary life and the soaring moral scrutiny of womankind. Every library should have it; every school should teach it.”
While at the conference, our team met up with colleagues from all our DFK sister firms across Australia and New Zealand. Paul and Gavin also caught up with Ron Lesh and Daniel Tramontana from BGL and Xero founder and CEO, Rod Drury.
DFK Hirn Newey look forward to continuing our valued relationship with Xero as a Platinum Partner and are excited to share with our clients the many benefits of Xero and its add-ons.
